Autumn Zoo Festival at Yumemigasaki Zoological Park on Nov 3 (holiday): keeper talks and backyard tours

Yumemigasaki Zoo's autumn festival

This event helps visitors feel close to the "lives" of the animals at Yumemigasaki Zoological Park and enjoy the nature of Mount Kase. The city invites people to spend an autumn day at the park enjoying "time to feel life."

Main activities listed on the city's page:

• Keeper talks: keepers introduce their animals in front of the enclosures. No booking or limit; just go to the enclosure. Times for each animal are announced on the day.
• Backyard tours: keepers show you the parts of the zoo you normally cannot see.
• Animal quiz rally: run by park supporters at the Park Center.
• Wildlife rescue corner, concert and food stalls

Other activities are "to be decided" (as of October 13, 2026). Issue 81 of the park's newsletter "Yumemi News" also mentions a bamboo craft corner.

Backyard tours by same-day lottery

There is no advance booking. On the day, get a lottery ticket in front of the Park Center; participants for each tour are chosen by lottery.

• Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (holiday), 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Place: the zoo area, observation deck plaza, memorial tower plaza, Fujimi Deck and Park Center of Yumemigasaki Zoological Park (1-2-1 Minamikase, Saiwai Ward)
• Fee: no fee is listed in the city's announcement. The park is always free to enter.

According to Yumemi News issue 81, the festival is cancelled in stormy weather. Activities may change depending on the weather and the animals' health.

No parking on the day

There is no parking on the day. Please come by train or bus.

On the same day, the nearby Hiyoshi Branch Office of Saiwai Ward holds the railway event "Tetsudo de Hagukumu Saiwai 2026" (planned for 10 a.m.–3 p.m.), so you can enjoy both.
