How to use this site
Kawasaki Saiwai Biyori brings you food, events, new places and city news from Saiwai Ward, Kawasaki, every morning. Three minutes a day is all you need to know what is happening around Saiwai and Kawasaki.
When do new articles come out?

Articles from October 13, 2026 onward are also published in English. Earlier articles are in Japanese only.
What are the sections?
- Food: one local restaurant per article, mainly in Saiwai Ward. We always explain why we picked it.
- New Restaurants: openings, relocations and renewals, only when the opening date is confirmed.
- Events: festivals, markets, sports and more, with dates, venues and fees checked against the organizers’ announcements.
- New Places: openings and renewals of shopping centers, and new shops moving in.
- City News: short summaries of city services, procedures, transport and disaster prevention, with what they mean for you.
- Top 5: the five most-read articles over the last 7 days, ranked automatically by page views.
How do I find articles?
- Use the colored tabs at the top of the home page.
- Choose an area, genre or budget on the home page, and narrow down further with the buttons on each list page.
- Use Search to look up restaurant names or addresses.
- Read older articles by month in the Archive.
What do the labels mean?
- NEW Published within the last 3 days
- Deadline There is a deadline for an application, entry or booking
- Sat, Oct 17 Event date
- New shops Oct 16 Date of an opening, renewal or similar
- PR Advertising: written at a restaurant’s request, or with payment or free products
- We visited Our team actually visited the restaurant
What are “Been there!” and “Want to go”?
Tap these buttons on a restaurant article to keep track of places you have visited or want to visit. See them in My list. Your “Saiwai rank” goes up with the total number of places you have been to (1 place: Saiwai newcomer, 3: Neighbor, 5: Regular … 50: Master of Saiwai). Records are saved on your device; sign in with Google on My list to use them on other devices too.
What is the Daily Saiwai quiz?
Every morning the home page has one three-choice question. The answer is in that day’s article. Your streak and score are saved on your device.
Where are the home page photos from?
The photos on the home page are from Wikimedia Commons and are published under free licenses (CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA). We only resized them and changed the file format.
