Key points 30-second read

  1. A bakery café in a residential part of Ogura, Saiwai Ward, known for handmade bread and coffee roasted in-house. Look for the turquoise building and the American diner-style interior.
  2. We had the "hamburger set" for ¥1,690, a burger on a house-made bun with French fries and iced coffee.
  3. Open Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and the day before a holiday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; closed on weekdays. It may close early when the bread sells out.

Why we picked it: In March 2024, the Tsurumi and Kawasaki local news site "Hama Saki Magazine" featured it as a bakery and coffee shop that opened in January 2024.

A turquoise café 15 minutes from Yako Station

From Yako Station on the JR Nambu Line, it is about a 15-minute walk through a residential area. Turn a corner and a turquoise building suddenly jumps out at you, with "moon jelly" in orange neon. It is a bakery café proud of its handmade bread and coffee roasted in the shop.

Step inside and you are in a classic American diner: a Harley-Davidson sign, a "COFFEE&TEA" board and shiny chrome stools. According to a March 2024 article in "Hama Saki Magazine," the theme is retro America of the 1950s and 60s. It feels like wandering into a small café abroad, and you can't help looking around.

Handmade burger set, ¥1,690

Hamburger set ¥1,690 Burger (house-made bun) French fries Iced coffee (roasted in the shop)

We ordered the "hamburger set" (¥1,690): a burger, French fries and iced coffee.

The first thing that caught our eye was the bun: big, with a beautiful golden-brown crust and a blue heart pick on top.

The outside is crisp and toasty, and the inside is soft and fluffy. A juicy patty is layered with fresh lettuce and melted cheese. It's not just the filling: the bread itself is delicious, which is what you'd hope for from a bakery café.

The fries were freshly fried and fluffy inside.

House-roasted iced coffee

The iced coffee is made with beans roasted in the shop. It has a clean finish but a deep, rich flavor, and it refreshes your mouth between bites of the juicy burger and fries.

A bit pricey at about ¥1,700, but worth it

For a café lunch in the suburbs, about ¥1,700 may feel a little high. Still, given the quality of the handmade bun and the time spent in this space, we were happy. It's a good choice for lunch on a weekend walk or drive.

Open weekends and holidays

According to the shop's Hot Pepper Gourmet page (checked on October 13, 2026), it is open Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and the day before a holiday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and closed on weekdays. It may close early when the bread sells out. Lunch seat reservations are taken for 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

When we visited in September 2026, the calendar at the shop also said "open on weekends only." Opening days may change from month to month, so check the shop's Instagram before you go.
