Japanese set meals on Kawasaki DICE 6F, free rice refills

Shokudo Maki is a Japanese set-meal restaurant on the 6th floor of Kawasaki DICE, a shopping building in front of Kawasaki Station. Its set meals pair carefully cooked, specially selected rice with refined side dishes. Rice and red miso soup come with free refills.
The interior is clean and calm, with a modern Japanese feel. With both counter seats and tables, it is an easy place to drop in alone or as a pair.
Rare salmon cutlet with salmon roe

We ordered the rare salmon katsu with ikura set meal and the braised pork belly set meal. The one to try first is the salmon. It is fried so the inside stays pink, then generously topped with ikura (salmon roe). The moment it arrived, it was hard to look away.

The coating was crisp, and the inside was moist and almost melting. It comes with lemon, wasabi and tartar sauce, so you can change the flavor and stay interested to the last bite. It is the kind of dish you pick as a little treat for yourself.
Melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly

The braised pork belly set meal is a hearty one, with big chunks of pork. The pork was tender enough to fall apart with chopsticks, and the sweet fat went well with the rich sauce. Two soft-boiled seasoned eggs and crisp shredded leek on the side added a nice accent.

Set meals come with dashimaki egg, miso soup, rice and a small side dish. The dashimaki egg was fluffy, and a gentle dashi aroma spread with each bite. Even the hearty miso soup and the side dish were made with care, making it a lunch that fills both your stomach and your heart.
Salmon cutlet set ¥2,750

- Rare salmon katsu with ikura set meal: ¥2,750
- Braised pork belly set meal: ¥1,750
The salmon katsu with ikura set meal costs ¥2,700 on weekdays and ¥2,750 on weekends and holidays (tax included).
